She'll never truly fit into Oliver's world, but just as she's ready to call off the fake relationship, fancy dinners, and elegant balls, a threat from her past forces both Oliver and Harriet to discover that love can come in the most surprising packages.

Ratings and reviews

Reading a romance that doesn't feel the need to get raunchy is so refreshing. Turano's novels are reminiscent of Austen, while still being unique and full to the brim with wit and funny anecdotes.

Jen Turano is one of my favorite authors. I love her quick witted, spunky, fun loving and opinionated characters. This is the first book in A Class of Their Own series, what a great place to start. Harriet Peabody only wants to open up a dress shop for the less fortunate. While working as a 'hat girl' she is sent on an errand she never expected. When she is put in a difficult situation and dismissed from her job she is not sure what will become of her. She is not sure what to expect of Mr. Oliver Addleshaw yet feels she has no options but to take him up on his interesting job offer. When things don't go quite as planned will her past catch up with her? and what is best for Oliver? Oliver Addleshaw only wants to increase his fortune. When he is unexpectedly left without a lady to accompany him to some business and social meeting he devises as plan to 'help' Miss. Peabody and his own problems. However when Harriet is around sparks fly, sometimes not just figuratively. He is not sure what to think of his feelings for her and her quirky ways. What is it that will truly make him happy? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading good, clean, christian, historical romanc
