About this ebook

“Marry me…

and you’ll have your freedom.”

Her father’s will dictates Violet Harper must wed or be disinherited—yet she’d rather face the wilderness of the wintry Yorkshire moors than be bound to cynical, damaged soldier Captain Lance Amberton. Lance promises a marriage of convenience that will grant Violet her independence. In exchange, she must put her faith in Lance and see beyond his gruff exterior to the man beneath…

This is the first book I have read from author Jenni Fletcher and I absolutely loved it! I will definitely be reading her other books! Our hero Captain Lance Amberton first met heroine Violet Harper at a ball in his Father's home. It seems Violet and Lance's fathers have arranged a marriage between Violet and Lance's older twin Arthur. Arthur is not happy about this arrangement and Violet is unaware. Lance dances with Violet at the ball and although there is an attraction, misunderstandings happen and Lance ends up being banished from his father's home. Our hero and heroine meet again after both father's and Arthur have died and a marriage of convenience is proposed to gain Violet's inheritance. I liked Lance and Violet from the beginning. Ms. Fletcher did a great job of turning their marriage of convenience to a HEA. A very well written love story with a few twists. Definitely recommend!
