About this ebook

She wants revenge. She wants the nightmares to stop.

There are some things only a bullet will fix.

Before Camille Devereaux knew how to kill, before she could even hold a gun, she was a damaged girl with only one purpose in life:

Destroy each of the men who had hurt her.

Plucked from the streets, taken in by a hitman who says he will train her, the assassin known only as ‘Smith’ quickly becomes the center of her dark world.

Teacher, companion, protector — it shouldn’t go any further.

There are names to tick off her list, and the last thing he wants is to become another monster in her life, but his brutal training only draws them closer together, the attraction growing as fast as her skill.

Amplified with every kill… until there’s no denying the temptation.

Having read Lethal Sin first strangely helped when reading Early Sins. I was enthralled with “C”s early years and horrified by what she had gone through and survived, this was the first indication of her strength. Smith was an enigma but what a charmer and mentor. It seems strange to want two hired killers to be successful but I did until the story became so sad and the scene in Bill’s bar finished me off. Having already read Lethal Sin enabled me to finish the book. I wished it had a different ending, but I understand why it didn’t.

Since this is a prequel I was expecting a shorter novella that would introduce characters and intrigue readers to read the next book. This was so much more than that! Yes it was a bit slow at times, but I liked that there was so many details that added to the character development. It was dark, raw, dirty and full of emotions with damaged characters that you will definitely love and care for. You just can’t miss with this author if you’re looking for a dark read! I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book and this is my honest review.

This was written after Lethal Sin but I'm reading them 'in order' as it were. I don't think reading order makes a difference, though perhaps I would have been a little more prepared for this story. This is a difficult book to pigeon hole and, to be honest, trying to put it in a slot doesn't do it justice. This story has so many different facets to it that meld together into one amazing read. I loved both C and Smith. Neither is a conventional romance character, and they are both certainly messed up. However I wouldn't have changed a single thing about either of them, they both drew me into the story in different ways but together made this a really wonderful read. It often wasn't an easy read, and it certainly packed an emotional punch, I enjoyed it from start to finish. The plot moves along at a fast pace, and though I wasn't too sure where it was heading at times I was totally enthralled and captivated by it. I will definitely be reading Lethal Sin as soon as possible.
