About this ebook

For eighteen year-old Gemma, life has never been normal. Up until recently, she has been incapable of feeling emotion. And when she’s around Alex, the gorgeous new guy at school, she can feel electricity that makes her skin buzz. Not to mention the monsters that haunt her nightmares have crossed over into real-life.

But with Alex seeming to hate her and secrets popping up everywhere, Gemma’s life is turning into a chaotic mess. Things that shouldn’t be real suddenly seem to exist. And as her world falls apart, figuring out the secrets of her past becomes a matter of life and death.

I understand it being part of a series. But an individual book has to have some sort of a completeness too. I have read other books those are parts of a series too. They don't leave you with a blank feeling like this . Maintain the suspense , but answer some questions too, throw a few surprises, twists. If the revelation about the woman being her mother and the man being Alex's father was supposed to be the big surprise, i believe it was surprising only for the characters. The readers knew it all along. Disappointed. And I can't even find the sequel book on Google.

I'm not exactly finished yet but this is my opinion right now. Honestly, barely anyone will probably agree but I really ship Gemma and Laylen. Yeah, barely anyone would probably agree but if you just look at how jealous and possessive Alex is, then you'd probably get why. Laylen has so far been the only one truthful of every word to Gemma, funny, and Gemma thinks he's cute. Yeah, he might stay 19 while Gemma is like, 30 but I bet there's a way to make her stay the same age without needing to become a blood-craving vampire. Other than that, I also have an opinion more people will likely agree with. Get rid of Nicholas please, let him get another girl to flirt with, just get his interest out of Gemma. I hate him, he's annoying, I'm sorry. He's way to flirty and even followed Gemma and Alex home. But still, even Alex is still possessive of Gemma when it's so obvious Gemma does not have a single interest in Nicholas. I hope Laylen and Gemma get together, honestly. (Liked it because it's very likely Alex and Gemma got together instead) Jeez, I have a chance of my ship. (Not really) maybe she won't forgive him. Wait actually, her memory is gone, he can just use this to his advantage and tell her other stuff. Laylen won't have a chance :/
