About this ebook

Tom can’t catch a break when it comes to his love life. He isn’t good with romance, as his exes told him in uncharitable terms, and he’s starting to wonder if there’s something wrong with him. So when he finds himself attracted to his temporary roommate, he’s afraid of being called inadequate all over again.

Alex has serious anxiety which make his life a challenge and his dating prospects slim to nonexistent. He assumes Tom isn’t interested in him because men never are. It’s a pleasant surprise to start a friends-with-benefits relationship, so Alex goes out on a limb in an attempt to impress Tom. When it backfires spectacularly, he thinks all hope is lost.

Both men are held back by past rejections. Will a minor crisis bring them together ... or tear them apart?

My first book by this author. I thought the title of this book was interesting and since this was a new to me author, I decided to give it a try. I really enjoyed the story but the title puzzled me until pretty far into the book and then it made sense in a rather poignant and touching way. Tom's not big into traditional romantic gestures like flowers and candy. He prefers practical things like changing the oil in his boyfriend's car. Unfortunately, his ex-boyfriends didn't feel the same way (which is one reason why they became ex's). Alex has anxiety issues, lots of anxiety issues, so he's pretty much convinced himself that no one will ever be able to tolerate him long enough to have a meaningful relationship with him. I thought that Tom and Alex really to fit together very well. After Alex became Tom's temporary houseguest, I think both of them were a bit surprised that Tom didn't mind some of the quirky things that Alex needed to do to become comfortable. I've never really known anyone with the types of extreme anxiety problems that Alex exhibited but I have known a few with less extreme cases. Sadly, for Alex, the things depicted in the story seemed very realistic to me. An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author. ***Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions dot com***

About the author

Some kids have imaginary friends. Jessie grew up in rural Maine where she needed to entertain herself, so she created an imaginary village and she has been dreaming up stories ever since. These days she writes romances which reflect her love of hot guys and a good happy ending. Married to her own Mr. Right, Jessie gratefully acknowledges his support and encouragement. She enjoys exploring the diversity of the universe and therefore cannot commit to a single subgenre of male/male romance. She's also a chocoholic, avid reader, and travel enthusiast. Too often she rushes out at the last minute because she lost track of time while writing. For more information, please visit jessiepinkhambooks.com.
