About this ebook

This summer, romance blooms again in Wildstone! Take a sneak peek at Jill Shalvis's next Wildstone novel, Rainy Day Friends, in this charming new novella.

After a difficult few years, Tilly Adams is ready for life to start going right. Though she has a case of first-day nerves teaching art at the local community college, she knows it isn’t anything a few snuggles from her rescue puppy won’t cure. Until she sees Dylan Scott again, her one-time BFF and first love sitting in the front row.

Dylan knows he should’ve left well enough alone, but when he sees Tilly living her dream, he can’t help but make contact. Ten years ago, he left Wildstone and everything in it behind, including Tilly. He had his reasons, but now he wants her back in his life, anyway he can get her.

When Tilly agrees to design the logo for Dylan’s new helicopter touring company, it’s business only . . . until she finds herself falling into his arms once again. Can she possibly open her heart back up to the only man who’s ever broken it? But soon they’re both realizing the truth—love always deserves a second chance.

This is my first book from Jill Shalvis. It was a quick cute read. I would love to have the character's relationship explored more. Since it was a novella and not a full book, it seemed their relationship moved extremely fast. However, I'm glad that there were glimpses of their relationship from 10 years ago to catch us up and to show that even though they moved fast in their current relationship, they had a very special bond as teenagers and could never get over each other. I wasn't very emotionally attached to the characters as in some books, but again it was just a novella. After reading "The Good Luck Sister", I am definitely going to read more of Jill Shalvis' books, especially this series to find out more about the characters. I am glad to add Jill Shalvis' books to my library.

Tilly has had Quinn in her life for the past decade plus, and in that time she’s ‘tried adulting’, in many varied ways – and is on the brink of starting yet another chapter in the colorful mosaic that is her work history: teaching. More specifically, teaching art at the local college, her first being focused on graphics, that is until front row center sits her ex, the only ex that ever mattered, Dylan. Unable to get him to drop the class, or for her ‘boost of confidence pocket dog’ Leo to do more than bark and growl, all very anticlimactic moments, at him, she’s reeling. The how to forget he left her, taking a huge part of her heart away and leaving her in dire need of direction, confidence and a bit of hope. For his part, Dylan’s return to Wildstone was a planned one, after leaving to follow a dream that was derailed by wounds suffered at war, he and his two friends have opened a small helicopter-touring business. He’s returned to make amends with Tilly, having never forgotten the girl who captured a piece of his heart, but he left her so she would follow her own dreams. This short, allowing us to see a bit of the then and the now, full of revelations from both sides, and with plenty of moments to just simply smile, outlines and gives the backstory for the Tilly / Dylan story, and show just how they are meant to be together. Full of Shalvis’ ability to bring heart, heat and some truly horrible moments to the surface to be dealt with, together and alone, the story is a sweet second chance at romance story and the perfect interlude as we wait for the next book in the series. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via Edelweiss for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Past, present and future collide to create a catalyst for a second chance at love. To understand how far a person comes, one has to take a look at where they have been. Jill Shalvis takes a walk down memory lane with a broken heart and a second chance. Tilly lost more than her friend when Dylan broke her heart. She lost a bit of that feisty spirit, she was forever known for. Moving on was not easy, but finally she's working toward her dreams, until a ghost from her past, makes it his goal to haunt her future. Amidst broken dreams, shattered pride and wounded hearts, The Good Luck Sister is a story of survival that spans a teenage friendship, a heartbreaking love affair and the ending that was always meant to be. Happily ever after.
