About this ebook

Rediscover the wonder and tranquility of God’s Creation in Nature Unveiled, a 40-day devotional from author and former forester Jill Smith that explores the beauty and mystery of the natural world and how it points us to the Creator.

Nature Unveiled: 40 Reflections on Experiencing God’s Creation is a thought-provoking and spiritually enriching 40-day devotional that seamlessly blends nature with scripture. Through insightful reflections and captivating illustrations, readers will gain a deeper understanding of God's creation and their place within it. Each day’s writing reminds us that the beauty of the natural world is a reflection of God’s love and how we are called to be stewards of the Earth.

Designed to be inspirational and spiritual, devotions are divided into three categories—plants, animals, and land—with each day offering a short reading, reflection, and questions. From families to church groups, homebodies to avid outdoorsmen, Nature Unveiled is a knowledgeable and contemplative guide for anyone seeking a deeper connection with the environment.

In Nature Unveiled, Smith uses nature to teach readers how to:

- Build and maintain strong relationships

- Turn to God during life’s battles

- Surrender to God’s plans for your life

- Remain faithful in times of uncertainty and change

- Extend forgiveness to ourselves and others

- Reconnect with God in moments of rest

Nature Unveiled invites us to connect with the natural world in a profound and meaningful way. Whether hiking in a national park, working in a community garden, or visiting a local park, we can all gain a new appreciation for the intricacies and wonders of the world He made.

About the author

JILL SMITH is a writer and speaker with a deep love for nature. She earned her B.S. in Environmental Biology from Taylor University and her M.S. in Natural Resources from Ball State University. She moved to Nashville, TN, with her husband where she worked as a forester at Warner Parks, one of the country's largest city parks. While there she managed fields and forests, wrote articles for Wildland Weeds and the Tennessee Conservationist, and developed educational programs for children and adults.

After leaving forestry and becoming a full-time mother, Jill began journaling about the connections between scripture and creation. She returned to forestry as the executive director of the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council and helped spread tree education throughout Tennessee by developing community arboreta. When not writing and speaking, Jill owns a Norwex business and works for Timberline Tree and Lawn Care. She lives in Nashville, TN, with her husband and two teenage sons.

Growing up in Averill Park, New York, Stacey Barr discovered a love for nature, art, and Jesus. Inspired by these passions, Stacey attended art school where she majored in painting and took classes in other Fine Art disciplines, like art history, printmaking, and drawing. She earned her B.S. in Studio Art and completed courses in art education and graphic design at the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY.

Stacey has made a career of art painting murals, creating logos, and completing commissioned art pieces. While living in Maine, she began an art school for K-12 homeschool students. After moving to Tennessee, she created an art club and curated an art gallery at her church as well as completed her own God-inspired pastel drawings. Her middle school dream of illustrating a book is being realized with Nature Unveiled. Stacey now resides on 16 acres in Chapel Hill, TN, where—with her husband and 4 beautiful children—she is surrounded and inspired by God’s creation daily.
