About this ebook

With a little luck, this fake engagement just might become the real deal…

Bridget McKinnon would do anything for her feisty ailing grandma Maura. She’ll even stay close to home and serve up green beer in the Purple Shamrock instead of pursuing her own culinary dreams. But money’s tight. So when a stranger with a sexy brogue asks about the apartment she’s renting out, Bridget hopes she’s landed a little piece of Irish luck…only to find she’s knee-deep in a crazy plan that’s turning her life upside down.

College professor Finn O’Hearn needs this job in Rendezvous Falls—his visa may depend on it. If he can convince his beautiful but tightly wound landlord to be his pretend fiancée, his boss will be happy—as will Bridget’s matchmaking grandma and her meddling book club. Finn and Bridget fool (almost) everyone with their sizzling glances and toe-curling kisses…even as they tell themselves it’s only make-believe.

Playing a part has never been so easy. But when love is real, it’s time to find the courage to start playing by heart…

Don’t miss When Sparks Fly, the next funny, heart-tugging romance in Jo McNally's Rendezvous Falls series centered around a matchmaking book club in Rendezvous Falls, New York.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. First can I just comment on the cover. I mean just WOW! I love him holding her in his arms and staring into each others eyes! Ok I am a red-head with some Irish in my background so unfortunately for Bridget she didn't look like the woman in the cover! More like someone that was a younger me. Okay on to the review. I loved the plot. It was so beautifully written that I could just picture the scenes just flowing through. The author gave just enough detail that I was able to use my imagination to "fill in the picture" like going to a play. Bridget McKinnon inherited the majority share of her family's pub and her father's house along with a ton of debt upon his early death. Bridget is busying trying to change the failing pub into something else while trying to get her family members (who inherited smaller shares of the pub) on board is like pulling teeth. Bridget has also managed and arranged the schedule of who will take Maura for her chemo treatments. Maura McKinnon is Bridget's grandmother and family matriarch has cancer. She has a FULL PLATE. Add in her red-headed Irish temper and she has a problem keeping some employees at the pub. Now Finn O’Hearn, is an Irish college professor who is now teaching at a much smaller college in the U.S. than previously. There was an incident (he punched his best friend and follow professor during graduation for sleeping with his wife!) Finn just wants to escape from the lime light of the controversy. He is working for tenure to secure his visa to stay in the U.S. Finn finds out the Bridget is renting out a small apartment in her rather large home. Bridget has never rented to a man before. But there is an attraction between the two. Sparks fly and through a series of mishaps and a tall tale, the road to their HEA is one that shouldn't be missed. I adored the book not only having Bridget's and Finn's POV but also Maura's as well. It was one that really touched me. I have had family members who have suffered with the same type of cancer. It really brought the story to life and made these characters so much more real. I thoroughly enjoyed going back to Rendezvous Falls. While this is a part of a series, you can definitely read it as a stand-alone. This is a sexy read. Some people may be offend by the sexy scenes. I would only recommend this to someone over the age of 18.
