I purchased this book not for use as an interviewee, but an interviewer. I wanted to learn better ways to meet with potential employees and assess their potential. I learned that, as well as seeing the positive, thoughtful answers that can be a benefit to any business interaction, as well as personal interactions. From that standpoint, it's an excellent, effective book. That said, if I interviewed someone and all of their answers were this polished, they would seem almost too perfect for the job. This would leave me wondering where and when the fatal flaw would appear, and actually hesitate to hire them over someone with strong, but not 100% perfect answers. As with all of life, balance is key.

So I purchased this book to improve my interview skills. All my jobs in the past have derived from connections or internships where I was able to come in as a student and demonstrate my strong work ethic and skills. The unfortunate part is that I have very little experience in interviewing for a real career position on my own. I am an introvert by nature so this book provided very concise and efficacious strategies. It really opened up my mind to enter an interview with a different mindset. It gave me the black and white version of an interview--very straight forward and good on strategies to optimize the brief time you have in an interview. With this book, I landed the job of my dreams! I highly recommend this book. I will say that it is important to adjust the suggestions and tips in the book to the job you are interviewing for. It is important to be flexible with the ideas given.

If you are nervous at even the thought of having to walk into an interview, like I am, then you will seriously appreciate this book! This simple step-by-step guide can help you build the confidence needed to tackle any interview you might have in the future. It even went over questions that I would've never thought to practice before hand. Tons of great information included! Well worth the purchase.
