I appreciated this book very much there was romance in it but not to the point that a younger lady couldn't read it without being embarrassed. I was very impressed by the author. She kept you on your toes wondering what was going to happen next I can't wait to get the rest of her books thank you very much for this opportunity. At this time I'm only reading the free books so I will have to wait a while. God bless in and your endeavors to write more books.

What a great novella. An Awakened Heart, first of the Orphan Train Series by Jody Hedlund gets us off to a great start. The story takes place in 1857, in New York City. It brings to light the plight of the poor immigrants. We are introduced to Christine Pendleton, a wealthy young woman who has seen first hand the hopelessness of the women and orphans in the most deprived parts of this city. Guy Bedell a pastor is serving at the chapel, pouring his heart out trying to make a difference in the life of these poor people. Christine challenges Guy at the end of a meeting to do more than hand out tracks and hold church services. When she visits some of the sweatshops with him, she is convinced that something has to be done. The love between Guy and Christine has a smooth slow start, and is a very sweet story. I would recommend this novella, I enjoyed reading it.
