Greenmantle, published in 1916, is a very riveting war thriller with Hannay and a group of cohorts that are first introduced in this novel attempt to stop Germany from being able to rouse the Middle East into a fervor using an Muslim holy man. With only 3 vaguely worded clues, Hannay and his friends try make their way east. Buchan is really good at this kind of thriller and the characters here are unforgettable. Very good read.

Great story line. I've read it twice and enjoyed it. Couldn't put it down once I started.
