About this ebook

John Fund explores the real divide the country faces with the looming election. Through wary thoughts on voting integrity, he shows how eletions can be decided by the votes of dead people, illegal felon voters, and absentee voters that simply don't exist. If nothing is done to address the growing cynicism about vote counting, rest assured that another close presidential election that descends into bitter partisan wrangling is just around the corner.

This book is, unfortunately, focussed on entirely the wrong concerns. Voter fraud is a minor problem, that has yet to affect 1% of voter turnout. The writer is simply erecting a straw man, rather than focussing on the key areas of disenfranchisement: - restrictive 'ID' laws that overwhelmingly stop the poor from voting; - vote 'counting' processes that are set towards political ends; - the bribery in all but name that is the basis of the modern 'democracy'; - gerrymandering, and the locking out of 'third party' alternatives; - politicians whose every action has already been bought and paid for by the time they enter office; and for those who do care about cheats in voting - the machines that are used for recording votes, without any proper audit trail or proof of technology. Florida in 2000 provides just one example (regardless of Mr Fund's opinion - I suggest he learn a little about the technology). It is a shame that the author has focussed on the least relevant and least effective means of threatening democracy. Unfortunately that focus is understandable, when the ones most disenfranchised by any measures to 'reduce voter fraud' are actually wolf-whistles that most hurt those communities that Fund doesn't actually care about - non-white, and/or poor. Fund wears his political leanings on his sleeve. His work for the WSJ and for Fox - as well as the willingness of The Heartland Institute to quote him - tell the reader all they need to know about the purpose of this diatribe. The sensible reader will save their money, and instead turn to: 1. the report To Assure Pride and Confidence in the Electoral Process, published in 2001 following a full investigation of the 2000 elections, by The National Commission on Federal Election Fraud. The Commission's honorary co-chairs were Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter. 2. the free essay on the question of voter fraud by Michael Gilbert (Professor of Law, University of Virginia).

NOT WORTH YOUR TROUBLE NOR MONEY: The author claims that this is a problem while numerous studies have shown it is NOT a problem. Therefor the solutions that the author gives, voter ID and more gerrymandering will make elections UNdemocratic, we will get elections that are won by minorities of conservatives. The 2010 Congress was already chosen by a MINORITY of voters. So, inadvertently, the author reveals how votes are REALLY stolen: through Voter ID laws, which disproportionately are affecting progressive voters.

It's exactly this kind of disinformation & fictional writing that's led to our current polarized division in the US! A book clearly not based on facts! There was no evidence of fraud in our 2020 election, nor "Stealing the Election" or a "Rigged Election" This book has the same propaganda & lies Trump spewed on Twitter, which he was ultimately banned from for life (hopefully never to heard from again) Pure opionated hyperbole for Trumps gullible Reader's, disengaged with reality!
