The world has long shared a wealth of stories about the wizard Merlin. I can assure you all are wrong.
I’ve only been in the twenty-first century for a few months, but if I’ve learned anything, it’s this: magic still exists in a world that’s forgotten it. Magic still needs protecting, and that’s what I do.
It turns out the Religare Council has to bend a few rules now to let me use the strongest magic ever. A darkness is brewing here in New Mexico—something not even the Council and its ancient members understand. So I guess that’s how a wizard like me—who’s only ever wanted one thing—gets to be a private investigator with magic on his side. Because if I don’t bend the rules, we'll all lose a lot more than just magic.
My name is Merlin.
I served under Uther Pendragon and his son Arthur in the fifth and sixth centuries. I served the people of England until 1361. In my third lifetime today, I serve your world. I can only hope it’ll finally bring me the peace I need.

About the author
I have spent over thirty years in the in various capacities in software industry and have made many friends during that time. When it comes to my spare I spend most it not playing computer games.
I love to hike in the mountains and swim in a pool. I also likes to travel and has been to Hawaii, Washington DC, Canada, and many other places in the United States. I enjoy taking short weekend trips just to be somewhere other than where I am.
I started writing in 2010 after I was laid off and had plenty of time to spare. A good friend, Dale, who was writing a novel, and I were having lunch and he encouraged me to write a novel and even though I thought it would be a great waste of time I figured I had the time and a few ideas. How hard can it be?
As it turns out, pretty hard. But really enjoyable.
Over the next six years I started and stopped 13 novels but finally finished Miami Rage in 2016. As it turns out I learned that it's what is called a therapy novel. A lot of people died in that book. But no animals. So it's all good.
When I completed Miami Rage I thought I was done writing. But early in 2018 I had the idea for an updated Merlin and started work on my latest novel Merlin: Private Investigator. I hope you enjoy it. I have ideas for the next three Merlin novels and look forward to working on them. And hearing from you.
