This is an excellent examination of Mormonism from the critical side. I think we often give little credit to the quality and accuracy of legacy works such as this thinking that more modern research is better research. However in so doing we lose the valuable prospective of time and proximity. The prospective of Mr Adams is indeed critical in almost every respect however the work is very well documented much more so than is today's opinion based works that are most often far less supported by contemporary sources.
