About this ebook

Gulliver’s Travels is a misanthropic satire of humanity, written by Jonathan Swift, an Irish writer and clergyman, in 1729.

It is Swift’s best known full-length work, and a classic of English literature. Like many other authors, Swift uses the journey as the backdrop for his satire. He invents a second author, Captain Lemuel Gulliver, first a surgeon and then a captain of several ships, who narrates and speaks directly to the reader from his own experience.

Under the series ’Young Readers Classic’, this book is an adaptation of the original novel. Retold in a simple language, the book contains colorful illustrations that make the reading more interesting.
