Methods for the design of feedback control of a single-quantum system are discussed. A scheme based upon quantum cloning, so to avoid quantum measurement process is proposed. The idea is elaborated on a two-level atom coupled to a vacuum reservoir, hence undergoing spontaneous emission. The issues of controllability and observability are discussed.
