About this ebook

"I can feel the pull of magic as it desperately calls to me—but my own kind prevents me from seeking it. Soon, I will let my fire burn."

I've shed my old life, embracing the duty of the heart maiden. My mission: safeguard my people and uncover the elusive heart flowers sustaining our magic.

There's one problem—I'm not interested.

But when my enclave falls prey to a mysterious illness, the responsibility falls squarely on my shoulders. I alone wield the power to unearth the cure before it's too late. The quest ahead is rife with monsters, deceit, and unexpected romance, sure to be forbidden.

But the biggest betrayal is yet to come… and the cure might just break my heart.

The second book in the incredible The Fire Heart Chronicles, Flame Caster is an exciting urban fantasy thrill ride with paranormal monsters and magical mayhem. Readers will swoon with the love story and stay for the adventure.

*** SPOILER ALERTS *** This starts off with a very interesting and unique plot, the mysterious 'Heart Maiden'. But by about half-way it starts to get a bit generic and repetitive, with the protagonist just repeating the same types of actions with the same feelings, and you start being able to predict what's going on. I will buy the third to see if it's better, but after that... (This part is definitely a rant on generic 'Romance' tropes, not just this book. Sorry!) The semi-romantic trope 'get close, then deny and start again' has been done to death. why is it such a faux-pad to have relationships develop as they really do rather than starts with the sudden realization that this 'other' is The One and ends when they actually have sex, as if that first episode makes everything warm and bright? News flash: the first time is RARELY the best that they ever had, it's often the worst, and portraying it this way makes the ehole book seem disingenious. Have a great day, everyone!
