This is the set includes two books, The Color of the Seasons and The Color of a Christmas Miracle, in The Color of Heaven series. While these stories are part of series, you can easily read them as a standalone. Though I highly recommend you read the series because Julianne MacLean does such a good job of creating rich characters with thought provoking storylines. The book blurb adequately describes the storylines so I'm not going to repeat that info here. This set is a great addition to the series. I needed tissues while reading these stories. I received a copy of this book from the author and chose to leave a review for other readers. Two good stories about love, betrayal, tragedy, hope and redemption. They are both emotional stories and remind us that we have to go through the storm to see the blue skies. The Color of the Season: Josh is a cop and after being dumped by his girlfriend, he is shot during a traffic stop. During his surgery and recovery, he experiences some pretty unbelievable things. He reconnects with some old friends and finds love. The Color of Christmas: Claire wants a family. She married Wes and they were very happy until the pressure of not being able to conceive puts a strain on their marriage. There is tragedy and betrayal, but she still has hope. She works hard to find the forgiveness needed for the betrayal and finds love right in front of her.

A wonderful Christmas gift for those of us who follow A Color of Heaven. In the bustle that can overtake us at Christmas, curl up with a hot cup of tea, take a deep breath and dive into this lovely 2 book set. Hope, love, joy mixed in with a bit of confused soul equals a great read. The book helps us in novel style to question our assumptions of what reality should be and opens us up to the miracle of... well miracles. I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Edit Delete
