THE HATING SEASON is the second full-length instalment in K.A. Linde’s contemporary adult SEASONS erotic, romance series focusing on a group of connected, powerful and well-to-do friends in the Upper East Side of New York City. This is publicist / fixer Anna English (who prefers to go by English), and bad boy/heir to the Kensington dynasty Court Kensington. THE HATING SEASON can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and history. Court Kensington’s story begins in The Lying Season. Told from dual first person perspectives (Court and English) THE HATING SEASON follows in the aftermath of a public relations nightmare wherein Court Kensington’s ex-girlfriend has been accused and arrested in a multi-million dollar fraud scheme just weeks prior to Court’s mother’s run for political office. In an effort to clean up Court’s reputation, and redirect his involvement with the financial fraud, Mayor Leslie Kensington hires LA publicist Anna English to keep her wayward son out of trouble. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between English and Court, and the fall-out as issues of trust, and a second betrayal push English out of Court Kensington’s life. Anna English knows heart break and betrayal first hand but never expected to rebound with her most recent client. Court Kensington struggles both personally and professionally in the wake of his most recent scandal but ‘working’ with Anna English is no longer a black and white issue but slowly blurring the lines of why she was hired. The relationship between English and Court begins as a business arrangement, an arrangement of which Court wants no part. He doesn’t need a babysitter or a professional make-over but something about English draws Court like a moth to a flame, a flame that is about to burn out and spiral. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Larkin and Sam (The Lying Season), Gavin King, Camden Percy and his wife Katherine Van Pelt, and Whitley Bowen. WE are introduced to socialite Poppy Arlington, billionaire Robert Dawson, English’s sister Taylor, her father Joe and step-mother Ashley, as well as English’s ex- husband Josh. THE HATING SEASON is a story of family , friendships, betrayal and heart break. The fast paced premise is entertaining, inviting and engaging; the characters are energetic, animated and sassy; the romance is seductive, provocative and captivating. THE HATING SEASON is a wonderful, dramatic and intense look at the powerful elite, and the fall-out of too much, too soon.

The Hating Season is the second stand alone in the Season series - an enemies to lover romance. Court Kensington is in need of a publicist in order to repair his image post his last break-up. Anna English is a publicist from LA, recruited to help Court in restoring his public image.. Anna is an independent, smart woman and perfect for the job. Everything seems to be going fine till Anna gets to know about her cheating husband.. With her personal life becoming a chaos with that betrayal, she is so heart broken. What she doesn't expect is the growing attraction she feels for Court Kensington.. Court is actually charming, and a good guy as opposed to the troublemaker image he tries to showcase in the public.. And when Anna gets to know the real Court, its impossible for her to not fall for him.. Anna n Court were perfect for each other.. I loved their arguments, the way their relationship evolved...Everything... This story is a perfect mix of angst and all the feels. Even though, I was never very fond of Court while he made appearances in the previous books, the author just made me fall in love with Court in this book.. That's the best thing about K.A Linde.. She is just so good in making you love a character you never liked in the first place... I cant wait for Camden n Katherine after catching glimpses of their relationship in this one...

If you looked Court Kensington up all you would find is a train wreck. Drugs, sex, playboy. But honestly Court is misunderstood. He doesn’t correct them when they make these assumptions. He doesn’t show anyone who he is. The man who loves to read, the La Crosse soccer coach. And he doesn’t care what they think. But when his girlfriend is arrested for grand larceny and he realizes how she used him he realizes how he treated and used women in the past and things started to change. It was also when English was hired as his PR that he did indeed change. English made a rule never to get involved with her clients. Up until Court she had stuck to it. They both needed something the other one had but didn’t know. She brought out the good in Court and his family and friends started noticing, especially his mother. His mother was reluctant to hire English because she was so beautiful and felt she would fall under her son’s spell. But it was Court who fell under English’s spell. It was he who fell in love with her and what a beautiful thing that was to see. Court is my favorite of all the men in this series. So misunderstood. I loved his transformation from bad boy train wreck to the man that English fell in love with. You could not help but fall in love with him as well.
