I’m always happy when KM Scott announces a new book. I’ve loved the ones I’ve read and I loved Hard Work. The writing is amazing. I adored the epilogue and it was a beautiful ending to this book. Becca needs to be away from everything for a while. She decides to go to the inn where she loves to go to relax. The owner of that inn recently passed away and the inn is now owned by her son, Zane. Zane never liked the inn when he was younger and he still doesn’t, but he needs to own it for one year to inherit all his mother’s money. He isn’t nice to his employees and he hates all the work that he needs to do at the inn. Zane really isn’t happy there. Zane and Becca were a couple once. They loved each other very much, until one day Zane left without saying something to Becca. Becca was devastated. She eventually moved on, but she hasn’t been successful in relationships. She is shocked to see Zane again. He isn’t the same man as she remembered, but she’s still attracted to him. Zane has never forgotten Becca and he hopes for another chance. Becca is an amazing woman. She’s sweet, friendly, caring, sassy, passionate and talented. She owns her own business and it’s a successful one. She loves her job and she’s creative. Becca truly loves the inn and the people who work there. It’s a great escape to be there. She can’t believe that Zane doesn’t want to be there. Becca is hesitant to give Zane another chance, but sparks always fly when she’s with him. There was a lot of push and pull, and I wished that there were more scenes of them as a couple instead of the time jump. Zane wasn’t always easy to love. He was rude, closed off and not happy at the beginning of the book. I understood him after knowing his reasons, but I guess I wanted him to make an effort to make it work. He’s so different than his mother and his employees don’t like him. Zane does change when Becca comes back into his life. He wants to be better for her. He will fight for her and he would do anything for her. I loved the setting, the inn. It’s so peaceful there. It’s far away from the city and there is a beautiful environment. I understand why Becca goes there to be away from everything. The people who work there are great characters. They work hard. Some were fun, others were very friendly and caring.

Zane has so much anger inside of him and lashes out at everyone near him when he is forced to take over his mother’s beloved Inn after her death to get his inheritance. Becca is a sweet fun loving romantic that loves to get away from the rat race of life at her favorite little Inn that is so quaint and cozy. That is until she happens upon a long lost love that left her years ago without a word even though they had what she thought was a perfect relationship. Make sure you read this story to find out if Zane and Becca can put enough Hard Work to make a reuniting love happen. You will fall in love with this cozy little Inn just like Becca has. KM Scott’s words on these pages make you feel like you could close your eyes and picture yourself there right along with the characters.

I have always been a huge fan of K.M. Scott books for years. I fan girl all over the place when I hear she has a new book coming. I loved Hard Work and loved harder on Zane. At first I was unsure if I was going like him. He was very difficult at the beginning. Stubborn and sarcastic man. He seemed like he could not really learn how love for love. It was all the fame, fortune, and freedom with Zane. Until he was left with his mothers B&B Inn. I really see how the author made her own version of Beauty and the Beast. It seemed that Zane was cold as stone, until Becca. Becca is kind and loving. She is sassy and holds no bars to anyone that tries to walk all over her. Zane is down for the count before he even started. But little by little we finally saw that Zane may have a heart after all. My thoughts on the book? I loved every bit of it! I loved seeing Becca bring Zane to his knees. When he would mess up and become a jerk, she would walk away. She was not there to hold his hand or turn a blind eye. This is what makes Zane finally open up and stop taking life for granted. But at what cost? Are these two ever going to make it? And lets talk about how hot these two tear it up in between the sheets. Your temperature will rise at least 10 degrees higher! I was captivated and had a hard time putting this book down. Hard Work is a definite page turner!
