This is the first book in the Project Artemis series that follows a very independent woman and her journey to freedom. Persephone is one of three daughters of the wealthiest man in the media business. Because she was raised to not be a spoiled rich girl, she is working as a nurse in a local hospital to help others instead of looking down at them. After being kidnapped in the parking area after her evening shift, her father hires Nick, the best of the best at finding someone and bringing them home. Once he finds her and realizes what an amazingly strong woman she is, he can’t help but fall for her. Keeping true to his word, he rescues her and brings her safely home. But not before he had to do something that has changed him forever. Will he be able to move past this or will it send him into the darkness for good? I am intrigued by the beginning of this series because it is different than most of the books I have read. I personally thought the relationship between the hero and heroine progressed rather quickly. There was so much more to their connection that I wanted to learn and feel. It will be interesting to see how the other men that work for Project Artemis come to find the love they so deserve.

In The Darkness is full of action with the heroin Persephone being kidnapped and the hero PI hired to find her and bring her home safe. Nicks not ready for the effect Persephone has on him. Great beginning to the Project Armetis Series. Must Read!!

Our hero Nick, former FBI, is hired by her father to save her. He is able to infiltrate the abductors and forms a bond with Persephone. Her trust in him is broken when he is forced to do the unthinkable to save her. Will her trust in him return and will he able to ever forgive himself? This is a start to an amazing new emotional series.
