This book is the conclusion of Chase and Alicia’s story, which started in Caught in the Chase. So you really must read that book before you start this one. It is also the fourth entry in the Caught series. These books do feature interconnected stories and while you can enjoy each of the couple's romances as a standalone, I think you will have a much deeper and more pleasurable reading experience if you read them all and in the order recommended by the author. These two have really taken us on a monumental journey as their relationship evolved and their story unfolded. Honestly, I feel like my emotions have been all over the place with these two. This makes perfect sense because these characters have a raw, real life genuineness to them. They have flaws and issues and have been known to make bad decision and heartbreaking mistakes. So I've been anxiously awaiting this book to see how everything wraps up and I was not disappointed! A wealth of intense and deep emotions flows throughout this book and that ensures your hearts get a very serious workout. A skillfully crafted blend of drama, angst, twists and poignancy creates a potent and powerful storyline that delivers massive feels, a few tears and ultimately some major heart melting swoon. I am freely posting an objective review.

***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW ***** Caught in Us is the conclusion to Chase and Alicia’s story which started in the first book, Caught in the Chase. So do not go into this book without reading the first book. Caught in Us starts out with a three-year time jump and Alicia and Chase are worlds apart. However, a wedding will soon reunite them and bring everything to a head. Chase is now sober. He’s a different man and I got chills seeing him like this. He’s moved on and built a life for himself. Alicia has also made a life for herself. All it takes is one moment when their eyes meet and everything comes back to the surface. They can’t seem to deny what they want but they have more than the fear of addiction between them now. Caught in Us is a beautiful story that really played with my heart strings. I was surprised how quickly I forgave Alicia after the ending of Caught in the Chase. Shea really played with my feelings with this duet. Those feelings have a lot to do with Kacey Shea's way with words but also to the amazing narrators that brought this book to life. Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood seriously brought so much to these characters that I FELT for them. Hamilton really played well on the vulnerability that Chase ended up showing. He started off so arrogant and bitter but it was so easy to see that he was hiding his emotions. Peachwood kills Alicia's character (in a good way). Alicia is so unsure of her own footing. She's drowning in shame and regret for some reckless actions and Peachwood just NAILS the emotions I get from the words. I don't think this audiobook could have been any better!

An engaging end to her Caught series Alicia, a university professor, has a troubled past that includes Chase, a firefighter, and she hopes not to run into him when she heads back to Virginia for her friend’s wedding to his brother. As the story progresses her hopes are dashed, a secret is revealed, and if she cannot let the past stop influencing the present they could not have a future. Kacey Shea’s Caught In Us is an engaging end to her Caught series and gave Alicia and Chase the closure and forgiveness they both need. I am sad to see the series end but looking forward to the next journey she allows the readers to experience. I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not. Readers should know addictive behaviors are discussed and encountered, if this is triggering for you do not read this book.
