"Dancing Away With My Heart" a novella written by Kate Nolan has once again proven she is a quality writer. Many times novella's fall short because they feel like it is more of a conglomerate of notes slapped together to meet a deadline. Ms. Nolan's novella is complete! Simply that Lexi's and Zach's story really started as kids, and one doesn't need to dedicate 50% of a story to that in an adult romance. The high school reunion, the music, and their deep friendship that Ms. Nolan so wonderfully and artfully expresses will make you a fan and a returning visitor to Wishful! The fresh new style of cover is just an added bonus. Each Wishful story is a standalone, with no cheating or cliffhanger. The overall quality of writing is in line with the Southern way of speaking and thinking. This is a romance, not an erotic read. Zach and Lexi get a second chance and you get to find out if they get their beginning to a happy ever after. Ms. Nolan includes a list at the end of each Wishful story of all the other Wishful stories which I'm sure you'll want to dive into so you can be better acquainted with each resident of this amazing community. Although as an ARC reader and this story had been given to me free for an honest review, I didn't start as an ARC reader for Ms. Nolan or the Wishful series. This author and series are worth every gold star and is why I'm happy to be able to continue to give an honest review. Happy reading!

While a shorter novella, this book is another great example of the author's ability to tell an engaging story. We continue with the stories about the various personalities she has introduced us to who live in Dare Valley. This time she focuses on high school prom memories. Like Lexi, I never attended my high school prom. This book may bring back both your good and not so good memories of those high school days. It's a quick, easy read and a great way to pass a lazy Saturday afternoon. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Now 10 years later Lexi returns to Wishful to help her mother after she injured herself and who does Lexi run into first but Zach and he wants to pick up their friendship right where they left off in high school...so not happening!! It’s also their 10 year high school reunion and the theme is their senior prom and Lexi is so not going... too much heartache about that time in her life... but Zach has finally figured out what happened to their friendship all those years ago and is determined to figure out how to repair the damage, give her a prom to remember and show her his true feelings that took him a while to figure out. Quick sweet read, true to life story, standalone, and visits by former people from other Wishful books!!
