A fun duo of cozy mysteries I always enjoy Kat Bellemore’s books. They’re well-written, humorous, with hints of possible romance for the series. Dead Before Dinner - A New Year’s Eve dinner guest drops dead and Maddie is a prime suspect. She wants to find the real killer to make sure her family is safe. Dead Upon Arrival - Maddie’s family vacation to the balloon festival takes flight when someone falls from a balloon. She believes the prime suspect is innocent and is determined to prove it.

This new series is very cute. Maddie, her mother & 2 children work to solve various kinds of mysteries. Reading both together in this set is a great way to start the series. I liked the 2nd one because I know of the balloon celebration each year in NM. One day I hope to attend.

These books were very good mysteries and I love how Maddie was able to figure them out.

Kat Bellemore is the author of the Borrowing Amor sweet romance series and the Maddie Swallows cozy mystery series. Deciding to have New Mexico as the setting for these series was an easy choice, considering its amazing sunsets, blue skies and tasty green chili. That, and she currently lives there with her husband and two cute kids. They hope to one day add a dog to the family, but for now, the native animals of the desert will have to do. Though, Kat wouldn't mind ridding the world of scorpions and centipedes. They're just mean.
