About this ebook

He’s the man she loves to hate...

Olivia Kane’s wedding day has just imploded spectacularly. Shots lined up at the bar? Bring it. Hot stranger on the hook? Come on down. What this party does not need is six feet and change of home-grown Texas cockiness in the form of her brother’s best friend, the man who broke her heart seven years ago.

She’s the woman he has to have...

Flynn Cross won’t stand by while Liv finds sensual solace in the arms of a stranger, not when his own hard-for-her body is more than up for the task. For one week, he’ll make her honeymoon-for-one a sizzling party for two.

Breaking the rules, one steamy night at a time...

But the taboo they’re breaking is only the beginning...and Flynn’s part in Liv’s wedding debacle could bring about their end.

Each book in the Tall, Dark, and Texan series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.

One of my favorite types of stories! Best-friend's-sister/friends-to-lovers! I love when stories build over time and this story definitely has that. Olivia has just experienced the pinnacle of humiliation on what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. Her fiancee and her maid of honor are caught red-handed on her wedding day. Olivia walks away and decides that her honeymoon will become a trip for one to paradise and she will find her rebound there. Flynn is Olivia's brother's best friend. He's a war veteran. He also has harbored feelings for Liv for a long time. He knows she can do better than her fiancée and a random vacation hookup so he offers himself as a rebound. He goes with Liv on her vacation and over the course of the week, they heat up Mexico. I loved the glimpses of the past in this book that showed how these two went from being close to almost enemies. This was a quick, fun read. I loved Flynn and Liv so much. I read this book before the other books in the series and now I can't wait to go back and read those! *I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.*

Loved this! We've all had the "one that got away". In Olivia's case, it's her brother's friend that lived with them as children. They're all grown up now, but Flynn is, and always was, off limits. So Olivia agreed to marry the man he father thought would help him politically. Then everything fell apart on Olivia's wedding day, so she escaped to take her honeymoon alone. Flynn follows her and offers to help her get over her hurts. This leads to a very sexy story that fans of the genre will love.

One of the reasons I am a fan of Ms. Meader is that she knows how to pack on the heat without sacrificing the connection of the romance. With One Week to Score, I think she lost some of the romance and amped up the temptation. It worked. The fact that Olivia and Flynn had a past made the chemistry even more naughty. I have followed the Tall, Dark and Texan series from the first book and each is a tad steamier than the previous but get the job down with their complicated characters and seductive scenarios. My Rating: 5 Buckets of Ice (To cool down)

About the author

Originally from Ireland, Kate cut her romance reader teeth on Maeve Binchy and Jilly Cooper novels, with some Mills & Boon thrown in for variety. Give her tales about brooding mill owners, oversexed equestrians, and men who can rock an apron or a fire hose, and she is so there. Now based in Chicago, she writes sexy contemporary romance with alpha heroes and strong heroines who can match their men quip for quip.
