Ein Patientenrechtegesetz soll nach dem Willen der Politik das konstatierte Informations- und Umsetzungsdefizit bezüglich bestehender Patientenrechte im Behandlungsalltag beseitigen. Die Arbeit setzt sich mit den Chancen und den Risiken einer gesetzlichen Regelung der individuellen Rechte und Pflichten von Arzt und Patient auseinander. Thematisiert werden verschiedene Regelungsmöglichkeiten, die Wirkung von Normen sowie Regelungsinhalte. Im Mittelpunkt steht ein eigener Gesetzgebungsentwurf für eine Kodifikation des medizinischen Behandlungsvertrages im BGB.
