She is relieved that she still has the magic touch for baking. Olivia and Carly, who helped her parents with the café as they got older, were hugging and talking over old times when a banging at the door got their attention. Then a booming voice told everyone to get out of the café because it was closed now! Detective Miller handed her a warrant to search her business. A maple bacon pastry from the cafe had been found at a crime scene that morning and they suspected the professor was poisoned. If she wants to get her business reopened soon, Olivia needs to start her own murder investigation and solve the mystery of who killed the professor. With the help of Vi, Ben, and two well-known gossipy older ladies, Maude Porter and Trixie Roterman, who had an almost supernatural ability to sniff out secrets, will Olivia be able to apprehend the real killer before her business is ruined? About the author
When I was a child, I spent most of my time in my room or the library reading the Boxcar Children and the Nancy Drew series among others. As I grew up, I dabbled around in several professions ranging from finance to owning a confectionery--and now writing.
Though I no longer live in the Midwest, I still have fond memories of my childhood in Michigan. Many of my stories take place in settings which remind me of my hometown—though the places, people, and names may be made up.
