About the author

Katie Hacker is the host of the public television show, Beads, Baubles and Jewels. Between 1999 and 2005, she wrote 15 books about jewelry and 5 about general crafts for Hot Off the Press that, combined, have sold nearly a million copies. She is also the author of Hip to Bead (Interweave, 2006), Simple & Stylish Bead Accents (KP, 2005) and the coauthor of Bead & Wire Jewelry Exposed (NL, 2009). Through Walter Foster, she has two kits with booklets—Fashion Your Own Beaded Jewelry, 2006—and just this year, she launched her own product line with Beadalon—Katiedids Creative Components. Katie teaches workshops at national venues like the Bead & Button Show and she is a columnist for Beadwork magazine. She is a guest blogger at Create Your Style and at Beadalon. Hacker lives in Keystone, IN.
