4.25⭐ Stand Fast was an enjoyable story, that hooked me in from the beginning, with pockets of action and a romance that was sweet and easy. Additionally, I really liked the two main characters Zaid and Jaliya, and it was great to read a story that focused on characters from a different faith and had them as the good guys rather than just the antagonists. And I have to say, I loved all of Jaliyas British expressions, particularly bent as a nine-bob note, which was a favourite saying of my Gramps, and it was wonderful to see them captured so perfectly. As for the story, itself I loved that it was set in Afghanistan and I had no idea who the Jackal was until they were revealed, and that final op had me on the edge of my seat. I also liked how more of the DEA Fast Team were introduced and I'm looking forward to reading more about them as this series progresses. And I would happily recommend Stand Fast to others, especially if you have enjoyed the two previous books or are a fan of this author, and her other works.
