About the author

Colonel Dame Kelly Holmes is one of Britain's most recognisable and admired athletes. She has won World, Commonwealth and European medals, and added double Olympic gold at Athens in 2004. Awarded an MBE for services to the British Army, honoured by the Queen with a Damehood and made a Honorary Colonel in 2018, she founded the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust to engage, enable and empower young people. Kelly also supports various charities, including Mind and Heads Together, campaigning alongside Prince Harry to raise awareness around mental health.
