Nothing wrong with the writing but the pacing is way off. For about 80 percent of the book the main character dances around the reason why she can't stay. I can't stand how wishy washy she is. Now that I've finished the book, I think the author overestimated how compelling the so-called mystery of Delaney's fear of commitment is, and the premise of these boots wasn't enough to prop up the rest of the story. Given that about 90 percent of the book is the repetitive will she/won't she leave, the whole book feels lopsided and rushed given the story basically wraps up in the last chapter.

I love the magical aspect. if only life is simple as a pair of boots. world would be much happier. But then again life is not always we want it to be so serenity is good to practice.

It kept me on toes. I just couldn't put it down until I had no choice but to sleep. I finished it as soon as I got up later that day. Yes, later that day because I didn't go to bed until 430 am. I just bought book 2
