This book started off tense, suspenseful, and dangerous and it never stopped. With a sweet, scared little boy and a social worker we find ourselves in a fight for their lives. From dark, forest roads, to a bridge and river, to the forest and beyond. A kindly ranger joins them and we see hints of an ongoing mystery saga that most likely took place in previous books in a series. The medical aspect was a great suspenseful addition to this child in danger book. The romance was a slow burn with a her
