Antony Mason was born at RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire, went to primary school in Washington D.C., and wrote his first travel guide on Bali. Since then he has written many books on a variety of topics, including art, history, geography, travel, houseplants, volleyball, spying and the Wild West.
