About this ebook

Can true love ever bloom from a start like this? Shy heiress Alfrieda Hamlin is reduced to shocked silence when her hateful grandfather announces she’s to marry within a month – to a cowboy she’s never met. There’s no way she’ll give her body to a stranger, or have her expected freedom and inheritance stolen away!

Alfie might be shy but she’s no pushover. When she learns more about the succession deal hatched between her autocratic grandfather and the handsome Texan stud, she vows to beat her new enemy at his own game.

Exiled for half his life, hard-living Rory Morrissey has been offered a deal: quit the ranch in Texas, return to his New Zealand birthplace, and embark on the delicate mission of convincing Alfie to take him as her husband. This will earn him a fresh start, respectability, and the chance of owning a farm beyond his wildest dreams.

Rory has nothing to lose by accepting the challenge. The girl could be bearable. Perhaps they can outwit the old man and split things amicably? Maybe hell will freeze over first, but this hunky cowboy is determined to ride down his heiress and bundle her into his bed.

COWBOY WANTS HER HEART is the third in Kris Pearson’s standalone Heartlands trilogy. Set in the spectacular rural scenery of New Zealand, these novels take you to faraway places where real men and women seek lasting love – sometimes against daunting odds. Loved the setting. One could almost believe such a place existed. The characters and storyline were less believeable. By the time the last few chapters came along, the story felt more like an end of term English paper; hastily finished so something could be submitted before the deadline.

Great story of aggravation to lust in an arranged marriage battle between Rory and Alfie. Great read, about 24 hours for me.

A feel good story and I'm looking forward to reading Ellie and Tony's story that sounds amazing.

About the author

New Zealander Kris writes sizzling contemporary romance, pure and simple. Well, maybe not that pure! They're sexy stories about couples who fall in love, and into bed along the way, just like real people do.

If it's fine, she gardens. If it's wet, she writes. And if the writing's going well, the garden can look after itself. She's an advertising copywriter and a decor specialist, and the author of 'The Boat Builder's Bed', of which more than two million were downloaded free. Giving away this taste of her work kick-started sales of all her other novels.

Her Heartlands series follows the girls who live deep in the New Zealand countryside. Her seven Wellington books are set in the capital city so she can make use of the beautiful harbor in the plots. She has also published two Sheikh novels, a Christmas novella, and a book of nineteen short romantic stories. She’s now writing the Scarlet Bay series – the first title published is Hard to Regret, the second is Hard to Resist, and Hard to Handle is following.

Four of Kris’s novels are now available in Spanish. There's a Spanish version of her website too - tap the flags at the top right corner to change languages.
