About this ebook

From New York Times bestselling author Krista Lakes comes a sexy standalone novel about the baddest bad boy doctor and the sweet little nurse that he falls for.

When I left my small hometown years ago, I never expected to come back. I certainly never expected that when I did, I'd be working for him.

He's the town's doctor. He's supposed to be a respectable member of society, a pillar for the community. He's supposed to have come a long way from the bad boy who rode a motorcycle in high school.

But he hasn't. One glance from those lustful eyes looking at me tells me that he has the same voracious appetites that he did when we were younger.

Only it's not quite the same stare. It's more urgent. It's more intense. I'm not the same nerdy girl who tutored him. I've grown up, developed fertile curves that I know he finds irresistible.

In this small town, rumors travel fast, and the family doctor can't be seen as a player. So he does try to resist. And I do too. But with every smoldering glance and moment of sexual tension, we find our barriers breaking down.

After a stressful night of touch-and-go baby delivery, a moment of elation overcomes our inhibitions. It seems like maybe we'll need to confront those rumors sooner rather than later, especially before I begin to show the results of that night.

Can I give this doctor the family he has always desired?

Jacob and Hannah met in the high school of their small town in Iowa when she became his tutor in science. He was the bad boy goof off and she was the quiet shy girl with few friends who secretly dreamed about him. Fast forward several years and they're back home together working in the medical clinic (he's the doctor and she's the nurse). Small town gossips and politics strive to keep them apart (he's practically engaged and she's still the outcast). However, fate intervenes and they secretly hook-up and a relationship develops until they get caught leading to the latest town scandal. I enjoyed this book, well developed believable characters who manage to defeat the outside influences and create a HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

ARC for honest review with no compensation This is book 1 in the new series by Krista Lakes called Bad Boys and Babies and what a great start!! Hannah a nurse has returned to her hometown to take care of her ill father and gets a job at the town clinic which is run by Dr. Jacob Matthews, a former classmate, secret crush and the town's bad boy. As they continue working together Hannah's crush grows but she knows that their past needs to remain in the past and keep their relationship strictly professional. Little does she know that Jacob has feelings for her too but being in a small town with lots of busybodies nothing can be kept a secret for long... Sparks fly, twists, turns, engagements that are not real, crushes that blossom, pregnancy, and love make this a book you will not want to put down until the last word is read!!

The Family Doctor's Baby, written by Krista Lakes, is a cute, easy read. This is the first book by this author that I have read. The premise of this book was appealing and I really wanted to love it, but unfortunately that was not the case. Hannah, a good girl, has had a crush on bad boy Jacob since high school. She was the chubby, nerdy girl who was pretty much ignored throughout the four years. He was the cool, good-looking boy who rode a motorcycle to school. Hannah is asked to tutor Jacob so he can graduate, and a friendship develops, but then he disappears after graduation. Fast forward ten years, they both return to their small hometown. Hannah is now a nurse, Jacob a doctor, and they end up working in the same clinic. For me, this story was a bit predictable and the writing style felt too simplistic. I found the characters very likable, but somewhat lacking in depth and development. There were some very funny moments, the cupcake breakup being my favorite. The chemistry between Hannah and Jacob fell flat, and the romance was quite repetitious and not impassioned. The angst between the prominent people in this small town and Jacob & Hannah was just completely over the top for me, it just wasn't very realistic. Overall this book was mildly amusing, but not great. Happy Reading ***I kindly received free ARC of this book by way of Booksprout. I was not contacted, asked or required to leave a review in order to read this book. I received no compensation, financial or otherwise. This is my honest review.*** .
