the audiobook sounded like it was read via AI making it boring and hard to distinguish each person in the book. The ebook chapter titles cut weird at some places but that doesn't make or break this book. What did it for me was the fact that the villain was meh and yet feared. I felt as of this was one big tella novella you see with unbelievably, dramatical series of events that was far shock value that all comes out near the end. This book reminded me of Cassandra Clare's Immoral Instruments series. A similar ew, a similar fail of a great villain, and week characters. I do think there is hope for this book hence the 2 stars. The world, how magic works and a few edits could help and the novella can stay.

This book was great, I finished it in one sitting and like 3 hours, only got up once to use the toilet lmao. What a cliffhanger, I can't wait to read the next one! I didn't give it 5 stars because honestly, * TINY SPOILER* all the relationships between sisters and stuff can get really confusing. I had to go back two pages and re-read it slowly so I could understand. But overall, great book, would give 4 1/2 stars if I could. 😊

I enjoyed the story a lot. I do feel it was a bit rushed, but overall it was quite enjoyable. I only gave 3 stars for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I was very excited that the protagonist was pictured as a girl that was a bit overweight. But, I was disappointed that this changed. And secondly, as mentioned above, the story moved too quickly. There is barely time for character development and it seems rushed. I will, however, read the rest of the series.
