Mr Playboy falls in love and gets his heart broken.. Sound like a sad story? Nah. Sully Dolan's childhood made him not believe in love or happily ever after. But after a short affair with Detective Jane Cooper he realizes maybe he does believe in love and thinks Jane is the one. But instead of returning his feelings, she dumps him telling him she is dying. Jane was all work no play in the previous books so it was hard to be warm about her. But once we find out why she broke Sully's heart you are a little more receptive to her. She though she was dying from breast cancer and chose to battle it on her own. At the start of the book we find out she's in remission.. As it turns out Jane was quite the interesting character. She had a tragic past that in some ways conflicted with her job as a Detective and comes back to haunt her. I loved her best friend Heidi, who at the start of the book is a Nun but has no business being one with her thoughts.. The girl was a hoot and I cannot wait for her and Ross's book next.. There are a couple of side plots happening throughout this book. Fellow mechanic Ross Webber is left for dead after a repo/tow job goes wrong. Jane is assigned the case and this means having to face Sully again. Along with Sully and Jane trying to work out their relationship and Jane and the police trying to figure out what really happened to Ross, Jane's past is slowly revealed and someone doesn't want the past to stay dead.
