About this ebook

He’s got every reason to be cocky . . . until a female cuts him down to size.

I’m Dallas Easton, the best goaltender in the league. I make a damn good living playing hockey, and with women falling at my feet wherever I go, why not enjoy it? I get whatever I want, whenever I want—that is, until I come across the one player who gets the best of me on the ice.

When I try to pummel the dude, all hell breaks loose. Imagine my surprise when the helmet comes off to reveal a woman underneath. And not just any woman, but the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen. Callie Davis is the complete opposite of the puck bunnies I usually go for, a good girl with sick moves and a selfless streak a mile wide. I need to make amends, but she dodges me at every turn. It doesn’t help that Callie’s brother hates my guts, or that my agent thinks she’s bad for my career.

But I could care less what they think. I can’t let our little run-in on the ice be the end of our story. Because when I set my sights on something, I won’t rest until I score.

I enjoyed this book and loved the character Callie. Dallas is a hot shot hockey player that is all about the party and fast women when he meets Callie, a very serious nurse who doesn't have time for Dallas's games and nonsense. However, Dallas is smitten and doesn't want to let her get away. What follows is a fun contemporary romance that fans of the genre will love. For me, the novel started slowly and with over the top antics that didn't feel authentic to me. Sadly, they probably are very authentic in some circles. By the half way point, I was engrossed and invested in the story and couldn't wait to see how it would turn out. While this is the first book I've read by this author, it won't be the last.

I really enjoyed this excellent book. A great sports romance with a little humor, some nice sexy times, and a great romance at it's core. Dallas Easton is one of the NHL's toughest goalies. He has no problem throwing down the gloves when he needs to and the jerk that's trying to show him up on the ice right now deserves it! Only it turns out that jerk is a woman and the sister of one of his teammates. When Callie Davis basically blows off all his attempts to apologize she really peaks his interest. No woman has ever turned him down before so changing her mind about him becomes a challenge he plans on winning! Definitely a book I recommend.

I have read several of L.P. Dover's books but this by far was my favorite. I thought her writing was smooth, the characters were well developed and it was a great storyline. I really enjoy stories where the lead female character does not give in to the main lead male character and she actually makes him work for it. I can honestly say that Callie and Dallas relationship is definitely one that has never been written, in the sense of how they met. I loved all the back and forth between them, how strong Callie's character was and the funny banter that pursued throughout their courtship. I appreciated that it wasn't all about sex, but that there was an actual relationship developing between Callie and Dallas, with that being said the sex scenes we still amazing and well written. I have read sex scenes in other books of L.P. where they have come off a little cheesy, but in "Blocked" she did a great job building up all this sexual tension and then bringing it home with a very hot sex scene. I am looking forward to reading the 1st book and the 3rd book, which will be based off Lacey and Maddox. I would definitely recommend this series to all my fellow book lovers and will also say that if anyone loves stories based off hot hockey players and have read the Helen Hunting "Pucked" series then they would love the Breakaway series also.
