Ms. Harris holds an Associate of Science in Human Services, a Bachelors of Arts in Law Enforcement, and a Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology. Her counseling credentials are Certified Guidance Counselor for Middle and High School teens, Professional Counselor License Intern (LPC-I) Licensed Chemical Dependence Counselor Intern (LCDC-I). She is currently completing the state requirements for full counselor licensure through internship and supervision. Ms. Harris has over fifteen years of professional experience and documented success in the areas of Education and Counseling. She is a creative, dedicated, hardworking educator/counselor that has worked with a diverse group of people to include adolescents from economically disadvantages areas and military personnel. She is currently employed with a local college as a Psychology Instructor and is able to engage all learners to make a positive impact. Her education philosophy is to empower, equip, and to encourage all learners. She believes all students can achieve academic success according to their learning style. As instructor she sets the tone for the course by exhibiting enthusiasm, creativeness, and by maintaining current knowledge for the field of psychology that inspires students to attain higher level and critical thinking. Furthermore, Ms. Harris is the President and Director of Transforming Life Center an outreach center and mentoring program for at risk youth. Ms. Harris has a passion for helping youth to develop in successful adults.

Also, Ms. Harris was previously employed as a High School Guidance Counselor for over eight years where her passion for working with at-risk youth blossomed. Students sought her for social and emotional issues, along with academic and life guidance. She influenced youth to strive for the best and to never give up. Furthermore, Ms. Harris passion for working with young people began over two decades as a bible school teacher and youth leader. She currently holds the position as a Youth Pastor at a local church where she continues to inspire and encourage young people to be the best that they can be. As a Primary Therapist and Career Counselor Ms. Harris utilized various counseling techniques to engage resistant adolescents in the therapy process. Her experience includes working with authority defiant and resistant youth with anger, social, low self-esteem and substance abuse problems. Ms. Harris is very skilled in establishing rapports that allowed the adolescent to communicate openly about their issues. Her expertise includes excellent oral and written skills, recruitment and public speaking abilities, proficient crisis intervention knowledge, Training and Development Planning Methods, commendable counseling and interviewing skills and skilled seminar/workshop development. Ms. Harris Professional Memberships are Texas Counselor Association, Mid Texas Counselor Association, American Psychological Association, and Marriage and Family Counseling Association. She has obtained Highest Honor Dean’s list on several occasion and received recognition from the Killeen Education Foundation, The STARS 2004 teaching excellence award.
