Despite his parents’ warnings, Jorgi somehow gets his paws on his prized treasure and eats it with dire consequences.

Laflèche Dumais – Author/Auteur
As the sixth child in a family of 15, Laflèche is accustomed to self-sufficiency, being happy with little and to sharing. Self-taught, he learned all about stop-motion animation at 16 years of age while experimenting with Super 8 films. He has since traversed various fields from ad shooting, lighting, film editing/special effects to user interface design.
Laflèche began his career as a stop-motion artist, which led him to experiment with animation software development for over nine years at SOFTIMAGE. During this time, exposure to the movie business led him to try his hand with special effects and for the next 12 years, he worked as a Computer Graphics Supervisor at Quebec-based visual effects studio Hybride, a Ubisoft® division. Some of his notable work during this time included assignments on over 30 movies including Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avatar and The Hunger Games. Today, he joyfully writes fables for young children.

Étant le sixième d'une famille de 15 enfants, Laflèche est habitué à l'autosuffisance, à se contenter de peu et au partage. Autodidacte, il s'est frayé un chemin en animation image par image dès ses 16 ans en expérimentant avec les films Super 8. Il a depuis parcouru des domaines variés comme le tournage de publicités, l'éclairage, le montage film, les effets spéciaux en cinéma en passant par la création d'interfaces utilisateurs.
Laflèche a débuté sa carrière comme animateur image par image, ce qui l’a conduit dans le domaine du développement de logiciels d’animation pendant plus de 9 ans pour la compagnie SOFTIMAGE. Ayant été exposé à l’industrie du cinéma, il a ensuite œuvré pour les prochains 12 ans dans un studio d’effets spéciaux numériques québécois chez Hybride, une filiale d’UbisoftTM, comme superviseur d’infographie. Durant ce temps, Laflèche s’est impliqué sur plus de trente projets et longs métrages marquants comme Star Wars: Le Réveil de la Force, Avatar et Hunger Games. Aujourd'hui, il écrit des fables pour les jeunes enfants dans la plus grande joie.

Steve Cady – Illustrator/Illustrateur
For over 20 years, Steve has applied the craft of character animation to a variety of projects and has worked with some of the biggest studios in the visual effects industry. Since his start at Rhythm and Hues in California, Steve has worked on projects for Weta Digital, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Electronic Arts and most recently, as the Lead Senior Character Animator for Hybride, a Ubisoft® division. Eager to share his love of animation, he has been involved with teaching at AnimationMentor.com and Vancouver Animation School. Although grateful for the opportunities he has had, Steve continues to grow and challenge himself with each new project and loves to share his experience and knowledge with others.

Pendant plus de 20 ans, Steve s’est impliqué dans le métier d’animation de personnages sur une variété de projets et a travaillé pour quelques-uns des plus grands studios de l’industrie des effets spéciaux numériques. Il a fait ses premières armes chez Rhythm and Hues en Californie. Steve s’est ensuite investi sur des projets pour Weta Digital, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Electronic Arts et plus récemment comme chef sénior en animation de personnages pour Hybride, une filiale d’UbisoftTM.
