Three wishes can change everything. Aly had nothing but finding a magical ring gives her everything she ever wanted including education at Grimm Academy. The genie can make wishes come true but he can’t stop her prophecy from starting. I enjoyed this retelling and its happily-ever-after ending. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

Aly is the modern day Aladdin in that she is the street of new. Aly who like me has had a rough life and unlike me she found a genie and got herself a new life where she became a princess and got to go Grimm academy but she keeps her integrity and even though she may lose her prince she knows she has to tell him what princess fatin has been making her do before someone else finds out. I did love the genie the most. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

'Lamps and Lies' is the fifth book in Laura Greenwood's "Grimm Academy" series, and in my opinion, the best one so far! Based on the fairytale "Aladdin and the Lamp" Ms. Greenwood has given the lead character role to Aly, a female street urchin with a heart of gold who has learned to survive on the streets as best she can. When she finds a gold ring in the street a genie appears. Yep, you guessed it, she now has three wishes. She wants to become a Princess, attend Grimm Academy, and find a Prince of her own. Since this is a quick, easy-read I don't want to give away too much of the story but the genie has gone above and beyond what I've been taught when someone asks for wishes. But even at that, Aly has no idea about prophecies until she has one of her own and it's almost too late. I absolutely loved getting lost in this one
