About this ebook

I never thought my fake marriage, would become real...

Jasper Hamilton

I've always been a pawn in the game of chess my grandfather prefers to play with me. It started when I was a child who didn't have anywhere else to go after my parents were killed.

Gone was my home full of love and warmth, and in its place was a mansion with a man as cold as a winter night.

The only thing that kept me sane were my friends. Those blue-collar buddies who didn't care about my grandpa's bank account.

I never cared about the money either. Until he threatens to take away the one thing I love in this world. The foundation created in their memory. The only way for me to get it back? Play by his rules, take a wife, and secure an heir.

Something I never planned to do after growing up the way I did. But the way I respond to Daisy Williams, and the satisfaction I get from calling her my wife makes me feel like I've been promoted from Pawn to King.

A perfect second chance, marriage of convenience story. I absolutely devoured this book, it is so easy to read and it gives you a range of emotions while you are reading it. Jasper's background is so sad, though you still kinda want to smack the back of his head for some of the things he says and does. And Daisy is there for him (despite their history) and isn't willing to give up on him or their relationship, which is a beautiful thing (though in real life, I would be less sure about what she was willing to put up with!). I love the "found family" / friend group which just grows stronger with each book in series. You don't need to read the previous two to make sense of Jasper, but I highly recommend it, as it gives a more in depth read and each new book provides almost a bit of an epilogue for the previous relationship. Looking forward to the next book with Gabby and Barrett. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow, harsh at times but the romance is wonderful. After his parents died, Jasper is raise in a harsh home but when he stands to lose something so important to him, he is coerced to marry very reluctantly. Daisy his new wife brings out so much in him. Drama, and suspense are very outstanding in this book, as poor Jasper learns about his own power. But Daisy on instrumental in helping him achieve a life worth living. Very well done, their connection and chemistry truly shows and makes this a must read book. Great plot and likeable character in a world that's hard but eventually fulfilling. Fantastic story!!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
