About this ebook

From nationally bestselling author, YouTube star, and Facebook Video sensation Laura Clery comes a collection of comedic essays that paint “an honest, complicated portrait of how your life can change” (SheKnows).

Laura Clery makes a living by sharing inappropriate comedy sketches with millions of strangers on the internet. She writes songs about her anatomy, talks trash about her one-eyed rescue pug, and sexually harasses her husband, Stephen. And it pays the bills!

Now, in her first-ever book, Laura recounts how she went from being a dangerously impulsive, broke, unemployable, suicidal, cocaine-addicted narcissist, crippled by fear and hopping from one toxic romance to the next…to a more-happy-than-not, somewhat rational, meditating, vegan yogi with good credit, a great marriage, a fantastic career, and four unfortunate-looking rescue animals. Still, above all, Laura remains an amazingly talented, adorable, and vulnerable, self-described…Idiot.

With her signature brand of offbeat, no-holds-barred humor, Idiot introduces you to a wildly original—and undeniably relatable—new voice.

Laura is an amazing person. I have followed her on Facebook for years now and am so happy she wrote a book. This book opened my eyes about what people actually go through as an addict, I fortunately have never been through drug addiction but I myself was a huge troublemaker without drugs. Thank you Laura for putting your life out there and adding all the great details, you’re a great writer and I hope you write more books. Also a big thank you to Stephen for allowing your life to be sharper as well. Thank you so much. Your son is super cute too by the way and I love all your videos.

Been watching Laura Clery's videos for a few years now. We both had babies around the same time, and that was cool to follow also. Laughing about needing this and wanting that and perfecting this before the baby, or how life is after the baby. So, I felt this cool connection with her and her videos HAHA... After reading the first 30-something pages for free, I was hooked. Her high school story is similar to mine, drug use, drinking, peeing every where...There were actually so many similarities in her story as mine. It was cool to see her story transcribe and really know where she started and where she ended up in life. Awesome.

I read the entire thing in 2 days. Although I cannot relate to Laura In her personal struggles, I think we can all relate to her in a general sense, and be inspired by her successes. I absolutely adore how honest and brash she is. even the most embarrassing stories, she doesn't keep out any facts or details. I would absolutely cringe to share some things that I've done, and they can't even measure up to some of the things that she shared. Her success and her sense of gravity and self love have really inspired me in the past 48 hours. My only problem is that I don't like to consume a lot of harsh language, but that's really a non issue, because I'm reading a book from someone being completely, truly themselves, and he is so bold. And I admire that. Soooo, read it!
