Ambrose and Amy have had no murders to solve and things are really quiet at the station. Ambrose invites Amy to the Charity Ball to meet his family. She learns a surprising fact about her Grammie. Stacey has a feeling about a dead body she is doing a autopsy on, she feels it was not a natural death so she has Amy and Ambrose look into it. This was a slower read then the other books but still a good read. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The sixth book in the Amethyst's Wand Shop series is Potions and Oceans. Though not as exciting or as adventurous as the previous books, Potions and Oceans has an interesting storyline with a different type of murder to solve. The characters we love from previous books are going strong in this installment. With a delightful cast of characters, an interesting murder, and more murder to come, Potions and Oceans is entertaining. It very sets up the next book in the series, Rhymes and Crimes.

This is the 1st book I've read in this series so I'm rather late to the game. Luckily I didn't feel lost with the characters or the world they live in. If it wasn't for Stacey's gut feeling, we wouldn't even have a book. It leads to a suspicious death of a merman and the whodunit that ensues. I found it interesting as well because it actually happens in our real life society as well. Almost everyone in the story has at least one or two laugh out loud one liners. Ames and Ambrose even take a very big step that has this newbie smiling wide. Oh, and who doesn't absolutely adore Herbert and Rover?! My only 2 minor complaints are that Ames is a real ding bat in 2 sections, I just want to smack the back of her head. And the epilogue, to me anyway, was more like a next in series because it didn't have anything to do with what I just read. I enjoy light, low key, cozy mysteries and that's exactly what this book is.
