This is the first time reading anything from Laura Greenwood and I have to say I wanna read more. I liked that she put it all in a boxed set. Each book was written well and flowed nicely. The characters and theme was awesome. I loved how Leola had met her fated mates out in the mountains on a hike. She knew she had nothing to fear from them. I also liked that she shifted into a brown unicorn even thow she thought she was a deer. Read to find out what happens with the unicorn and her mountain lion mates. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The Valentine Pride complete series included Unicorn Mates, Unicorn Luck, and Unicorn Truth, as well as the happily ever after short stories, Unicorn Surprise and Unicorn Ends. Below is a review of the first book to give you an idea of what you’ll find in this set. *** Reviewing “BOOK 1 – UNICORN MATES” *** Leola was not enjoying nature at the moment on her hike through the woods. She was on edge, looking around and tense as if someone was watching her. And the mosquitoes were having a feast on her blood. What was worse, a rabbit ran in front of her, more terrified of whatever it just ran into in the woods than it was of the human right there on the path! A twig snapped behind her and as she prepared to run, a man told her he would not hurt her – and she believed him. Two other men stepped out, and again she fought the urge to shift and run. Kerry, Cas, and Levon introduced themselves; but when she asked if they had been watching her earlier, they said no. She sensed they were predators and she warned them her friend knew she was here. She also kept asking who they really were, until Cas laughed and said she was feisty for a deer! She already felt he was the alpha of these guys. She asked what a woman would have to do to get his attention – he responded all she had to say was “Yes”. She did, and he immediately kissed her passionately and, instead of feeling like dinner, she knew these guys would protect her. Then he started to purr! Leola was completely unfamiliar with the shifter community, having been raised by humans and shifting only once accidentally as she grew up. But as Cas kissed, Levon purred and pressed against her back, kissing down her neck. Kerry, who had been watching to keep them safe, finally approached and licked at her lips – she was hoping that with her actually being prey, these predators were not just playing with their food. Well yeah, they really did play, but she was more like the dessert than the dinner! Some time later in her apartment, she felt discomfort, pain in her stomach, a terrible itchy feeling up her leg. Her arms and legs felt thinner somehow, but her eyes were squeezed closed with the pain. She got the pain under control and opened her eyes to see tawny fur on her legs! She hiked back to where she had met the guys, then stripped down and tried to shift. When it happened, it wasn’t nearly as bad as the other two times, but she was shaky on four legs. So she practiced walking and prancing until she got better at it. She looked up the trail and a huge wolf was staring at her! She ran and it chased after her, staying close no matter how she dodged! She was exhausted and fell, watching the wolf close in on her, when suddenly snarling sounded behind her! Would her guys be able to protect her? Were they ready to let her know what shifter she truly was – and that they were fated mates? This was a cute story that was well-written. The characters were very well depicted to show the reader their different personalities. The big revelation of what kind of shifter Leola actually was gave me goosebumps and got rid of my confusion as to the source of the title. This was a different approach to shifter life and I enjoyed it. I also own the rest of the stories and it keeps getting better!

Leola was going for a hike when she felt someone was watching her. Three men come out the woods to tell her she was trespassing on their property. Leola has instantaneous reaction to them. She feels a pull to them all. They get pretty hot and heavy quickly. She goes home and can't stop thinking about them. She goes on another hike but she didn't seem when she got to the spot. She decides to shift, things go sideways when a wolf appears. The three lion shifters are their for her. Things move pretty quickly for in this book The other books, deal with the surrounding murders of shifters from years ago. Leola learns who killed her parents, she thinks that is the end of story. There is more to it than she knew. Leola will learn a lot about her mother and the shifter murders that no one every caught. This was a good series, you will enjoy it. Everything happens with a short period of time. I found things moved a little to quickly for them at the beginning, but otherwised enjoyed it after. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
