The first 3/4 of this book is absolutely breath taking. The ending falls short for me. It was a tad too predictable for the rest of the book which left me on the edge of a cliff the majority of the time. The characters are very lovable. I fell for them quite quickly. And their relationship is quite heavenly (no pun intended)... Breathtaking story with careful attention to detail, but weak ending. Beautiful writing though. I almost felt like I was reading a poem the entire time. Words are very carefully chosen and rightfully so...I would recommend this read for the first 3/4 of the book, as long as the reader understands that the ending will not be a suprise.

I read the first fifty-seven pages of the novel A CERTAIN SLANT OF LIGHT and found the book very good, from the wording to the overall ideas and plot. then, when the amount of pages offered to read had been read, i proceeded to read some of the reviews. most were not surprising at all. People talked about incredible word choice and a gripping plot that sucks you in from the beginning. one, however, caught my eye. it went talked about how inappropriate the book actually is. i hadn't read any real immorality yet, and hadn't quite been phased. the review talked about graphic scenes that put just plain disgusting thoughts into one's head.the overview of Christians is completely stereotyped and i didn't like how the author describes them in this book. overall, what i read of the book was very well written and intriguing, but if you are looking for a more appropriate book for you or your child's age level, this book might not be the best choice.

I've just started reading this book and honestly I can't put it down. I am so loving this book, and wanting a book number 2 now and I haven't even finished the book. If your reading this Laura Whitcomb please keep writing and don't stop.
