In this recreation of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the main male character (Quasim, in Leann/V.T.’s book) lives as a broken man. Horribly disfigured by enemy soldiers, he battles daily pain. Until, one night at a dance performance, he watches Ezmira dance and his pain and humiliation melt away. Co-authored by Leann Ryans and V.T. Bonds, this is a delectable Omegaverse captive romance, and an enemies-to-lovers story set in an alien galaxy. As Quasim spirits the lovely Ezmira away to his hideout at the top of a towering, dilapidated building, the tension intensifies between them…then it explodes! Although this is a Romance story, I also welcomed how the authors so ably communicated to us the atrocities of war, and the horrors visited upon those soldiers captured and tortured by enemy combatants. It doesn’t matter that this is a sci-fi read and that it takes place in some other galaxy. At the core of this story is a man living on the edge of suicide who discovers the power of healing love, dragging him back from death’s claws. I imagine wherever humanoids exist across the Universe, both love and war will encompass the same characteristics. The love between Ezmira and Quasim also opens Quasim more to his friends and brother soldiers. He had isolated himself from them thus far, but now he allows them in and allows them to offer him their help. Redemption…deliverance…healing. Ah, this is partly the reason why I love the Romance genre! 5 Stars.

THE DANCER AND THE HUNCHBACK: I really enjoyed this sci-fi retelling of the Hunchback of Notre Dame! This is the Fourth book by these two talented authors and they really make a wonderful duo! Ezmira the troupe dancer captures and enchants the emotionally and physically scarred Alpha Quisim so that he decides he wants the little Omega to dance just for him and therefore kidnaps her...... I really enjoyed the emotional heart wrenching journey that both Ezmira and Quisim had to endure to discover trust, love and acceptance! His mated friends plays a major role in this journey by intervention!

Ezmira is a dancer with an entertainment troupe who gains the attention of a damaged Alpha Warrior Quasim Odo. Her dancing lightens his pain. I enjoyed this story because he grabs what he wants to lessen his physical pain. The image painted of the immense disfigurement from his torture is horrific. It has a Hunchback of Notre Dame feel with a different ending. I do love happy endings. And this one is beautiful.
