Essentially a protracted God of the gaps argument whilst not providing credible and sufficient evidence in favor of the author's position, The Case for a Creator was a let down. Dishonest in its presentation of information, this book does nothing for its cause other than to cloud the minds of those that still prefer ideas and sentiments grounded in what they want to be true verses what is demonstrably or likely true.

This book can become tiresome. This tendency is not because of the scientific jargon, but because the content itself. At first glance, the evidence compiled seems to be quite conclusive. I urge all who read it to take what he is saying with a pinch of salt. HE HAS AN AGENDA! Never does he bring on an expert with a different view. The reason he only interviews those with non-conflicting opinions is that HE HAS AN AGENDA! The experts he bring on HAVE AGENDAS! THEY ARE TRYING TO PUSH A MESSAGE, NOT BRING YOU THE FACTS! For example, the first expert he interviews does have a doctorate in a relevant field. However, his doctorate was funded by Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church in order to (and I quote) "destroy Darwinism." And the third expert he interviews while searching for "the hard facts of mathematics, the cold data of cosmology, and only the most reasonable inferences that could be drawn from them" (95) does not have a degree or undergraduate degree in math or cosmology. I am not saying what the author conveys is worthless, but do not believe it is purely fact.

The content with examples are great. However I found the questions for consideration somewhat baffling as I have always been lukewarm to Darwinism. A comprehensive bibliography and index are included for anyone wanting to check things out further.

About the author

Lee Strobel, former award-winning legal editor of the Chicago Tribune, is a New York Times bestselling author whose books have sold millions of copies worldwide. Lee earned a journalism degree at the University of Missouri and was awarded a Ford Foundation fellowship to study at Yale Law School, where he received a Master of Studies in Law degree. He was a journalist for fourteen years at the Chicago Tribune and other newspapers, winning Illinois’ top honors for investigative reporting (which he shared with a team he led) and public service journalism from United Press International. Lee also taught First Amendment Law at Roosevelt University. A former atheist, he served as a teaching pastor at three of America’s largest churches.
