About this eBook

As a nurse and single mom, Darla Battle hides her loneliness behind a smile. But when she discovers that the new cute doctor everyone is talking about is her daughter’s father, she knows she needs to keep her distance from the man who abandoned her and their child, Stella.
When Theo Edwards returns to Nashville to finish his medical training, he never expects to run into Darla, a girl he spent one night with seven years ago. For reasons he can’t fathom, her attitude toward him is frosty, but he still hopes to ignite the spark they once felt.

Once Darla realizes Theo doesn’t know he’s Stella’s father, she has no idea how to tell him the truth. And the longer she waits, the more difficult it becomes. When the situation spins out of control, can the two come together for the sake of their daughter? Or is forgiveness out of reach?

A sweeter romance with a lot of heart ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ FOUR-STAR ✩ REVIEW ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ > > Judging a Book by it's Cover < < Cute Cover. Cute synopsis. > > Looking Deeper < < POV ~> Alternating first-person. At the last frat party of their senior year, two star-crossed lovers finally meet and a child is conceived. A series of miscommunications occur and Juliet (aka Darla) is left to single-handedly raise Stella for nearly seven years. Romeo (aka Theo) returns home and bumps into the girl that got away, the one he fell in love with at first sight. The concept and premise of this story were strong. The characters were varied and provided an entertaining cast. There was too many missed opportunities and too much miscommunication though, kind of dragging the plot out a little more than necessary. The situation that caused the interruption at the barbeque was heartfelt and emotional. The story was dynamic and had its charming moments. I also found myself frustrated with Darla's procrastination, and later, Theo's over-the-top reaction. But the emotions felt deep and tangible in many places, places that truly mattered. There is a sex scene toward the end but it does not get very descriptive. The conclusion implies a happy ending but was not completely solid. It left a few minor elements out that almost seem to be waiting to play out in another story. . Cindy was born in Texas and raised in Georgia. She enjoys gardening, reading, and bodybuilding. She can often be overheard quoting lines from her favorite movies. But her favorite pastime is spending time with Mark, her bass-playing husband, and Maddie Rose, the coolest girl on the planet. She also loves her fur child, Daisy Mae.
