This is still my hands-down favorite series from Blake Pierce. I love Adele Sharp and the banter between her and John Renee is always lively. Another serial killer on the Santiago de Compostela trail in Spain leaving bodies in his/her wake. The leads are taking them nowhere and John is being secretive about communications he’s receiving when Adele is around. Add the resurfacing of the Spade Killer who once again strikes with someone Adele was once close to and you have another Pierce book you can’t put down. I can’t wait for Adele to catch him and will be waiting anxiously for Book 12 of this series. **I received this book in exchange for an honest review. **

Blake Pierce takes Adele Sharp on an emotional journey in book 11 of this series, Left to Prey. Back to work with her partner, DGSI Agent John Rene, the two head to Spain searching for a killer who seems to be on a pilgrimage of absolution while nonetheless leaving bodies in his wake. Adele discovers she might have spaces deep inside of herself that cannot allow for forgiveness or absolution. As she is attempting to reconcile herself to this realization, additional revelations emerge that challenge her relationship with those closest to her and also her own career. The electricity is sparking as this book ends with one monster of a cliffhanger. I fully support any measure Adele takes to deal with the problem Blake Pierce has gifted her. I cannot help but believe and hope that having such a strong character as John Rene beside her is what will help Adele put the finishing touches on that little fiend.
